Sayyid Al-Hakeem Calls for Urgent International Move to Contain Escalation, Protect Global Economy From Its Repercussions
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad His Excellency the new French Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Alexandre Garcia, and discussed with him the developments of the political scene in Iraq and the region, as well as bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples. H.E. explained the importance of a country of France’s stature in the international equation and for Iraq, given the shared history of relations between the two countries in all fields.
H.E. explained the importance of restoring stability in the region, urging the countries of the world to take the initiative to restore calm and halt escalation, sparing the global economy further pressures.
H.E. also explained that ending the International Coalition’s missions is evidence of Iraq’s recovery and an international recognition of its overcoming of the ISIS threat, calling for precaution and caution and for sustaining security coordination with Iraq to confront any movement or activity by terrorist ISIS, and urging political forces in Iraq to send reassuring messages and maintain internal cohesion in order to face challenges.
