Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Developing Military Institution, Sustaining Proactive Operations Necessary to Prevent ISIS From Exploiting Any Security Vacuum
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad His Excellency Defense Minister Mr. Nayif Al-Shammari, congratulating him on winning the confidence of the Parliament and stressing the importance of continuing the development process in the military institution in line with the military doctrine and the challenges facing Iraq.
H.E. stressed the importance of integration with the rest of the security agencies and of sustaining proactive operations to strike terrorism and prevent it from catching its breath or exploiting any security or intelligence vacuum after the end of the International Coalition’s missions to defeat ISIS. H.E. also called for attention to the ministry’s personnel, officers and ranks, and for granting them plots of land.
H.E. also stressed the need to develop armament capabilities and diversify weapons sources, sustain training and maneuvers to demonstrate readiness, and review observations and address them.
