Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Tourism Important Resource for Diversifying Iraqi Economy, Calls to Activate Projects in Partnership With Private Sector, Investment
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad His Excellency Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Ali Abdul-Hadi Al-Dukhaili, congratulating him on winning the confidence of the Council of Representatives and wishing him success in the ministerial duties at an important stage in Iraq’s history.
H.E. pointed to the importance of tourism in Iraq, given its potential in archaeological and religious tourism and its natural diversity, which make it a destination for tourists from various countries and with various interests. H.E. stressed the need to activate tourism projects in cooperation with the private sector or through investment, considering tourism an important resource for diversifying the economy and breaking free of the rentier state, alongside agriculture, industry, investment, and modern technology.
