Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Unity, Accepting Difference, Dialogue Among Iraqis, Path to Protect Components
From the Qadiriyya Alia Takiyya of His Eminence Sheikh Badr Al-Deen Sheikh Mohammed Al-Zarari, in Erbil Governorate, H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, said that the name of Islam as a religion is derived from peace, as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) was characterized by peace, kindness, love, and overlooking the offenses of others.
H.E. called for building bridges of connection among the people of one homeland, recalling a long history of relations between the family of Imam Al-Hakeem (may his soul be sanctified) and the Kurdish people, and the Imam's (may his soul be sanctified) stance in supporting the Kurdish people and forbidding the fighting of them and the shedding of their blood, noting the difficult consequences borne by Imam Al-Hakeem, his family, and the seminary in holy Najaf as a result of this stance, which contributed to uniting Iraqis across their different sects and places.
H.E. stressed the importance of unity and accepting the plurality of opinions and differences of viewpoint, considering meetings and dialogues a means of protecting the Iraqi people with all their components, and expressing his affection for the Kurdish people, describing it as the legacy of forefathers and ancestors and the inheritance of sons and grandsons, calling for acquainting generations with the value of the historical relationship between Arabs and Kurds.
