Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraqis Can Overcome Challenges, Transform Into Opportunities
From Erbil Governorate, His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with a gathering of the sheikhs and dignitaries of Erbil at the guesthouse of Sheikh Farouq Yousif Agha Sheikh Bazyani, recalling with them the stance of Imam Al-Hakeem (may his soul be sanctified) in defending the Kurds and his bearing of the consequences of that stance, as well as the deep ties that bound Kurdish leaders to Shaheed Al-Mihrab and Aziz Al-Iraq (may their souls be sanctified), pointing to their shared confrontation with dictatorship, terrorism, and sectarianism.
H.E. considered differences of viewpoint to be natural given Iraq's diversity, affirming that difference is not a flaw, but that the flaw lies in being unable to face it and failing to resolve it, expressing his confidence in the Iraqis' ability to overcome challenges and capitalize on the opportunities arising from them.
H.E. called for the sound management of the economic crisis and for success in overcoming this challenge, stressing the necessity of moving past the rentier state of the economy, activating the sectors of agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology, and removing oil from the general budget in order to dedicate it to developmental and strategic projects, pointing to Iraq's standing at the great junctures of history and its contributions to the march of human civilization.
