Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Trust Allah, Noble Character, Prompt Good Deeds Fruits Prayer Right Epistle on Rights Message for Imam Al-Hussein Zain Al-Abidin

His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, continued during today’s Ramadan lecture H.E.’s explanation of the sixteenth effect of prayer within H.E.’s discussion of the Epistle on Rights by Imam Zain Al-Abidin Ali Ibn Al-Hussein (peace be upon him). H.E. further reviewed several narrations from Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and from the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) that highlight the importance of goodness and the virtue of those who perform it.
Among these narrations is a report from Imam Mohammed Al-Baqir (peace be upon him), who said:
“We found in the book of Imam Ali that the Messenger of Allah said while standing upon the pulpit: By the One besides Whom there is no deity, no believer has ever been granted the good of this world and the Hereafter except through having good expectations of Allah, hoping in Him, possessing noble character, and refraining from speaking ill of fellow believers.”
H.E. emphasized the necessity of embodying virtuous moral character because of its many positive effects, including attaining the pleasure of Allah and earning the affection of people. H.E. also called for refinement in dealing with others through kindness and high moral conduct, recalling the forgiving attitude of Sayyid Mohammed Baqir Al-Hakeem (may his soul be sanctified), who would pardon those who spoke ill of him and never respond with a word of offense.
H.E. also cited a narration from Imam Ali (peace be upon him):
“True goodness is not the abundance of wealth and children, but the abundance of knowledge, the greatness of forbearance, and competing with others in the worship of your Lord. If you do good, you praise Allah; and if you err, you seek His forgiveness.”
From Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
“When Allah intends good for a servant, He grants him understanding in religion, detaches him from excessive attachment to the worldly life, and makes him aware of his own faults.”
    He also said:
“When Allah intends good for a people, He increases the number of their scholars and reduces the number of their ignorant ones. When the scholar speaks, he finds supporters, but when the ignorant person speaks, he is restrained. But when Allah intends ill for a people, their ignorant ones increase and their scholars diminish; when the ignorant speak they find supporters, and when the scholars speak they are suppressed.”
Imam Mohammed Al-Baqir (peace be upon him) also said:
“Whoever intends to perform a good deed should hasten to it, for any delay gives Satan an opportunity.”
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said:
“The best of your brothers is the one who supports you, and better still is the one who suffices you.”
From Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
“The best of people are those who bring benefit to others.”
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) also said:
“The best of people are those who, in times of ease, are generous and grateful, and in times of hardship, are selfless and patient.”
Imam Musa Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) said:
“The best of matters are those that are moderate.”
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) further advised:
“Perform acts of goodness and do not belittle any of them, for even the smallest of them is great and the least of them is abundant.”
