Sayyid Al-Hakeem Affirms Dhi-Qar’s Service Reality Development, Invest Diverse Potentials
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received Mr. Izzat Al-Nashi, Head of the Dhi Qar Provincial Council, at his office in Baghdad on Sunday morning, 8 February 2026. During the meeting, His Eminence underlined the strategic importance of Dhi Qar Governorate, describing it as a city rich in potential and resources that requires further development and improvement in service provision.
His Eminence stressed the need for close cooperation and integration between the governorate and its council, noting that such coordination would ease the responsibilities of local officials and enhance the delivery of services to citizens. H.E. also called for greater attention to districts, sub-districts, villages, and rural areas to ensure fairness and balanced development amongst the people of the governorate.
H.E. further affirmed that Dhi Qar is a key touristic, agricultural, and oil-producing city, emphasizing the importance of investing its capacities and moving away from reliance on a rentier economy by revitalizing productive sectors to address the financial and economic challenges.
