    Sayyid Al-Hakeem Discusses Bilateral Ties, Iraq’s Political Scene Updates with French Ambassador

    His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met in His office on Monday evening, 26 January 2026, H.E. the French Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Patrick Durel. 
    The meeting focused on bilateral relations between the two countries, with both sides reviewing the current political situation in Iraq and its latest developments, and stressing the need to adhere to the constitutional timelines for completing the remaining posts of the three presidencies. 
    H.E. emphasized the importance of safeguarding the stability achieved in Iraq and working to turn it into long-term, sustainable stability, highlighting the necessity of addressing challenges through greater unity and cooperation among all Iraqi citizens.
    H.E. further stressed the value of strengthening relations with a country of France’s standing, as a key international actor and one of the five permanent members of the Security Council, calling for making use of the promising opportunities Iraq offers and revitalizing productive sectors, particularly agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology.
