Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, A Affirms Government Program Consensus, Upcoming Reforms
Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received the Head of Al-Nasir Alliance, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, in His Baghdad office on Sunday evening, December 21, 2025. The meeting reviewed recent developments across the political scene in the wake of the election results, alongside the approaching constitutional deadlines concerning the three presidencies and the formation of the forthcoming government.
Both sides underscored the necessity of consensus on the next phase’s government program and the prompt launch of reforms that reinforce the state’s authority, improve service delivery, and bolster stability nationwide. They highlighted the need to diversify revenue streams, move beyond the rentier-state model, avoid tying the country’s future to oil prices, and draw on governmental and academic expertise to advance these goals.
They further stressed prioritizing the public good over narrow interests, sharing national responsibility, safeguarding the independence of political decision-making, and ensuring that all parties shoulder their duties toward the homeland, the people, and their will.
