    Sayyid Al-Hakeem discusses service conditions with Diyala Governor, affirms activating developmental projects, grant local governments full authorities

    His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met on Monday evening, 9 December 2025, with Diyala Governor Mr. Adnan Al-Shammari at His office in Baghdad. H.E. was briefed in detail on the governorate’s service situation and the recent rainfall that reached Diyala and several other provinces. H.E. stressed the importance of maximizing the use of this water to support agriculture and ensuring its storage in ways that deliver the highest possible benefit.
    The meeting highlighted the need to activate the development sectors in which the governorate has clear potential—especially agriculture, industry, energy, and tourism—and to accelerate the reoperation of industrial facilities to strengthen national production and expand employment opportunities for the people of Diyala.
    H.E. further emphasized the necessity of granting local governments their full constitutional powers, noting that governorates serve as the state’s front line in delivering services to citizens and as a central partner in driving development, supporting stability, and meeting people’s needs.
